Hi! I’m Alexandra and I’m passionate about talking about the things that matter. The things that affect every one of us.
Every single day.
The path that led me to writing about mental health came not from an experience with my own mental health but from watching a family member suffer with theirs.
Worst of all, up to that point I had no idea how they were feeling.
As a result, I made a promise to myself that I would write about how I felt- in all its messiness, in the hope that if just one person read it and didn’t feel alone, or embarrased about how they were feeling, or spoke up, then there was a possibility I could save them and their loved ones from the pain my own family had suffered from.
Talking about how we feel shouldn’t just happen when it all gets too much. It should happen before the challenges life throws at us turn into a crisis.
When we are in the middle of a crisis, all we want is for how we feel to go away and that can make us bottle-up our emotions because we want to avoid how we’re feeling because we feel ashamed, guilty, or fear rejection.
But if we talk about how we feel before we hit that critical point, before our emotions turn into wildfire and we’re overwhelmed, we can take the time to figure out what is starting those fires so we can stop them from starting in the first place.
If, like me, you are passionate about empowering people to take control of their health and wellbeing so they can live happy and fulfilling lives, then I’d like to help you.
